* Notes received by email: As a former member of the Calgary Firefighters' Museum Society, I was interested in your photo of the International that belongs to the CFFMS (I have driven it a couple of times in Calgary). RCAF Shepard was an auxiliary air field located southeast of Calgary: the truck originally served there during WWII. RCAF Shepard was closed after WWII and later became a race track. After the truck was no longer required by the RCAF, it was sold to a large chemical plant located in southeast Calgary, where it served for years. It was then acquired by the CFFMS and restored. The restoration job was very good, except for two things: the windscreen is not accurate (wrong shape); and the door markings are probably wrong: they don't appear to match RCAF vehicle marking practices for fire equipment, which usually consisted of a simple serial number.
