ANTAYA, Raymond E. (Retired Chief, D.N.D. Fire Department, Petawawa, Korean War Veteran). Peacefully on Friday, December 30, 2005 surrounded by the love of his family at the Deep River & District Hospital in his 72nd year. Ray Antaya of Petawawa, beloved husband of Joan Antaya (nee Parent). Much loved father of Patricia Antaya, Chatham, Christine Robotham (James), Manotick, Charlene Whitlock (Wes), Lower Sackville, NS., Sandi McDonald (Jake), Petawawa and Terri-Lynn Boland (Glen), Ottawa. Predeceased by his son Walter. Dearest Grandpa, Poppa, and fishing buddy of Anna, T.J., and Mary Robotham, Andrew and Rachel Whitlock, Brodie, Brynda and Brittan McDonald and Liam Boland. Loving brother of Arthur, Theodore, Donald, Peter and Michael, Josephine Pantry, Rosemarie Jones, Alice Gagnier and Margaret Antaya. Predeceased by his brother Paul. Ray will be sadly missed by all his nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 296 Isabella Street, Pembroke on Monday 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. and Tuesday after 9 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday morning January 3 at 11 o'clock in Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, Petawawa followed by Cremation. Interment of Ray's Cremated Remains in St. Columba's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Deep River & Distric Hospital Palliative Care Suite Building Fund or to Our Lady of Sorrows Youth Ministry would be appreciated by the family.
